We launched a competition in the Easter holidays for our Waste Wise Kids across the UK to be creative and sustainable! We asked them to create Easter bonnets out of items that would normally be put in the bin. We have been amazed at the creativity!

What a clever way to create a bonnet by stacking old egg boxes, painting and decorating the. She is also using it to place her chicks in, like a car seat, to transport them around and to store Easter treats!

💚A box for the base
💚Old Easter gift bag including the handles for the bunny, Easter message and covid banner
💚Old Easter 🐣 decoration in the car seat with ribbon to tie the chick in with red velvet fabric for mask
💚Egg boxes for the chicks car seat and storing the Easter treats
💚Used paper straws for look out
💚Old Ribbon from a gift box for straps to keep bonnet on
💚Old Black tissue paper and red fabric for filling the egg baskets

Alivia has won a fabulous bug and insect hotel, a sustainably packaged Easter egg, a personalised Waste Wise Kids certificate and a Waste Wise Kids badge.

We didn’t receive any entries this time for our 10-12 year category, but we understand that the Easter holidays is a busy time and a great opportunity to spend time with friends and family.

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who entered the competition, we have really enjoyed judging the Easter bonnets and you will all receive a personal Waste Wise Kids certificate for doing such a great job!
